Experts estimate that as many as 1 in 5 Americans avoid going to the dentist because of anxiety or fear.
If you are one of them, we want you to know that is OK. We also want you to know that we have helped many patients learn to manage that anxiety at our dentist office in Spring, TX.
Every member of our team at Texas Dental Group wants you to feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible. For many patients, our comfort options make dental cleanings and exams much easier to handle. For other patients, sedation dentistry is more beneficial.
Pay Us A Visit
Before you schedule an appointment with us, we welcome you to visit our office.
We are located at 7122 Worchester Drive on the same end of Spring, TX, as Klein High School.
During your visit, you can meet some of our staff and get a feel for what our office is like.
We are a family dental practice, and we think you’ll find that our focus is on providing quality, comfortable care for patients of all ages. We welcome and encourage family members to schedule their appointments “side-by-side” to save time.
We also know that the teenage years can be a difficult time for any young adult. With this in mind, we will do everything we can to help your teens feel comfortable with their smiles.
We also hold ourselves to high standards. This is true both for the quality of the dental care that we provide as well as the personal care and attention we give to our patients.
If you are anxious, nervous, or fearful of dental care, please let us know. We want to listen to your concerns. Together, we can find a way to make it easier for you to get the oral care you need to keep your mouth healthy.
Comfort Options For Our Patients
Everything starts with our team. We will do everything we can to help you feel relaxed and calm.
One way we can do this is with longer appointments. This may not seem like much at first, but we’ve learned this can have important benefits for our anxious patients.
With a longer appointment, you won’t feel rushed. We can take breaks whenever you feel like it. This way you can receive your dental care a little bit at a time so you don’t feel overwhelmed. We also offer private rooms, which many patients prefer.
During your visit, we are happy to provide you with a pillow to help you feel more comfortable. We also know that some patients would prefer to take their mind off their dental care.
We have headphones for patients who would rather listen to music than to dental equipment. We also have televisions so you can distract yourself with one of our favorite shows during your time with us.
And if there is something else we can do to help you feel more comfortable, please let us know.
Depending on your level of dental anxiety or fear, you may need more than our comfort options. And that’s OK, too.
It’s why we offer two kinds of sedation dentistry at Texas Dental Group.
Believe it or not, nitrous oxide has been used for more than a century in dental care. Nitrous oxide or “laughing gas” does a couple things that are important for anxious patients.
While you are breathing this gas, you will be in a euphoric state. This will help you remain relaxed. Second, you won’t feel any pain while you are sedated.
Pain is a common concern among anxious patients. Dental sedation can alleviate that worry.
Nitrous oxide has the benefit of both taking effect and wearing off quickly. This means you can sit down, breathe in the gas during your care, and return to feeling like yourself within minutes after your treatment is finished.
Oral sedation is strong than nitrous oxide. Oral sedation may be a better option if you have moderate or severe dental anxiety.
With this, you take medication prior to your appointment. Its effects can last for a few hours, so you must have someone else bring you to and from the office if you choose the option.
As with nitrous oxide, you won’t feel any pain. In fact, you may not remember any of the specifics of your dental care at all. (Some patients think this is the best part of oral sedation.)
