Frequently Asked Questions

Over the years, we’ve fielded quite a few questions from our patients as their Spring, TX dentist. Here are some of their most frequent questions (and our answers) for keeping your and your family’s smiles in pristine condition.

  • I’m Having A Dental Emergency! What Should I Do?

Whether you’ve broken or lost a tooth or are in a considerable amount of pain, we understand emergencies happen. The staff at Texas Dental Group in Spring, TX are ready to drop everything to make sure you get the dental care you need.

If you’re not sure whether you’re experiencing an emergency, don’t hesitate to call us. You might want to go ahead and save our number in your phone so you have it in case of an emergency: 281-376-0550 .

  • What’s the best toothbrush to use?

The best toothbrush to use is one you’ll use twice daily! Beyond that, most toothbrushes have a standard head shape and handle length so you can easily clean and reach every tooth in your mouth. Choose a soft-bristled toothbrush that will be gentle on your gums and enamel. Be sure to replace your toothbrush every three months or when the bristles begin to show wear. One way to remember this is to change out your toothbrush at the start of every season.

  • Do veneers increase cavities?

The greatest indicator of whether or not you’ll get cavities is always your standard of dental care, at home and from your dentist. Veneers will not increase or decrease your risk for cavities.

  • Why are my dentures so loose?

As you age, you suffer from some bone loss. This bone loss is particularly prevalent in your jaws after you’ve lost your teeth or had them removed. It’s good to have your dentures and their fit examined by your dentist during your twice-annual visits. You can expect your dentures to be replaced or have some maintenance work done every few years.

  • I wore braces. Why are my teeth crooked again?

Even if you wore metal braces when you were younger and were extremely diligent about wearing your retainers, your teeth can still shift over time. Fortunately, with Invisalign, you’d only need to use the clear tray system for a matter of months to recorrect your smile.

These are just a few of the questions we hear from our patients. If you have a question, don’t hesitate to give us a call at 281-376-0550 .
